What's in it
| Section | What you'll find |
|---|---|
| How the emergency department works | A short card for each step of a visit. Why the sickest people are seen first, what the first check by a nurse is, why tests take time, what waiting for a bed means. |
| Around the department | Washrooms, water, food and the cafeteria with hours, charging stations, the pharmacy, a quiet room, exits. Directions in words, and a map when the hospital has one. |
| Visitors and caregivers | Who can stay with you, and the rules for visitors. |
| Wi-Fi | The network name and password, with copy buttons. |
| Interpreters and accessibility services | How to get a spoken-language or sign-language interpreter, hearing loops, mobility aids and quiet spaces. |
| Parking and payment | Where to park and how to pay. |
| Questions and answers | Answers to common questions. |
| Words we use | Words the care team may use, like CT, ultrasound, IV or specialist. |
| Contact | The hospital's main phone line and patient relations. Never staff phone numbers. |
In the app, Open in Maps opens directions in your maps app. On iPhone you may also be able to join the Wi-Fi with one tap.
Education sheets
Some tests and topics have an education sheet. For example, what happens during a CT scan. You can open them from a test or from the hospital info.
Each sheet says who reviewed it and when. It also says: This isn't a substitute for talking with your care team. Ask them anything.
If something is only in English
If the hospital hasn't written a French version of a section yet, it is shown in English.
