To do

Things your care team needs from you in EDFlow: samples, consent before a test, and restrictions such as nothing to eat or drink. How to mark a task done.

Tell a staff member now

Don't wait for a reply on your phone. Tell any nurse or staff member right away, or press your call bell. If you're in the waiting room, go to the triage desk.

If this is an emergency, call 911. For health advice, call Health811 at 811.

The To do screen lists things your care team needs from you. Each one says where it came from, for example "Because a urine test was ordered" or "From your care team".

To do: things you can help with, such as giving a urine sample, each with a Done button.

Restrictions

A restriction appears only when your care team has asked for it. For example:

Please don't eat or drink anything for now, not even water. Your care team will tell you when you can.
Screenshot pending: patient-todo-restrictionThis screenshot is captured automatically from the running app with sample data.
WebNothing to eat or drink

There is no Done button on a restriction. It goes away when your care team lifts it.

If there is no restriction but a test might need one, you see: Before you eat or drink, please check with your nurse. Please ask before you eat or drink.

Things you may be asked to do

TaskWhat it says
Urine sampleHand your sample to your nurse. Don't leave it in the washroom.
Consent before a testYou'll be asked to sign a consent form before this test. Your care team will explain it first.
Before a scanIf there's any chance you could be pregnant, tell your nurse before this scan.
Before an MRITell your nurse about any pacemaker, implant, metal in your body or recent surgery. Remove metal items when asked.

For a child, you may see: Your nurse will help collect a urine sample from your child.

Marking a task done

  1. Tap Done.
  2. The screen asks Did you finish this? Tap Yes, I've done it.
  3. You see: We've let your nurse know.

Some tasks finish by themselves. For example, a urine task is done when the lab records your sample.

Nothing to do?

You see: Nothing to do right now. We'll let you know if your care team needs something from you.
